When it comes to depictions of fantasy races I will wholly admit to being a major snob.
I thought Bugbears used to look incredibly stupid. They did when I was growing up. Over time they've evolved a much more interesting and distinct look that seems to have carried over into multiple gaming systems. Gradually they started to grow on me, especially in modern renditions. The final straw for me was the Tre Manor sculpted Bugbears. I still think they're the gold standard for this race on the tabletop. Heck, one of the very first Bones models I ever painted was the Tre sculpted Bugbear- he's even in this video!
I can't recall where I saw these specific models first, but I knew I recognized the style of the sculptor and had my suspicions confirmed that they'd done some freelance work for a variety of different patreons (and I've shown off some of those figures as well- I will let you discover that info on your own).
These sculpts have a lot of character to them.
Ignoring the terrible support removal and print fails on my part, there's a lot of nice detail to these figures, made all the more apparent by their larger size.
These models made me want to dust off some long neglected Bones models and finish them all together now!
