サクラ大戦・霊子戦闘機・無限 Sakura Wars Spiricle Striker Mugen!
I was shocked to find these models available in the United States, at Barnes & Noble no less!
This mech brings me back to the nostalgic days of college when I built one of the early Wave plastic Kobu Kai kits. I think it was the Kanna version in red. That was decades ago though and I may have built a few more.
My roommate at the time had a Sega Saturn and I can remember watching him play through it. Everyone used to make a big deal about the dialog system, but we were both tactical rpg addicts and just wanted to have the robots fight. So when the first early kits started to become available, I had to order one.
Fast forward to 2020 and I had to have one of the new ones. It's certainly bigger (and more high tech looking) than the original machines. Then again the Wave kits were 1/24 and these are 1/20 scale.
There are a bit more stickers than I prefer, but I enjoy the contrast with the white and gold.
The joints are a bit limited but I don't find that much of an issue due to how the mech is designed. I also felt the scabbards for the swords were a bit loose.
I have to say it's nice to build a robot that doesn't have a V- fin, mono eye, or a core fighter every now and then.
