Blade and Soul-gameplay, pros and cons!
2Welcome back to some more Blade and Soul here on G4G! In the first video, we looked at the character creation. In this video, we look at some actual gameplay. We have footage of open world combat, a quick solo dungeon and some questing.
Some of the biggest cons I've seen have been centered around the gold spam and the login queue times. Now a login queue time, I understand. First week, lots of people waiting for this, much hype, so login, many people...wow. There's a problem however. NCSoft is choosing to go with the shittiest money grab since LOTRO's "buy a quest" and you can buy a pack that fast passes you right to the top of the queue. Seriously? The lowest pack is 399 ncoin which is only 5 dollars but that's only SEVEN days worth of the premium membership. If you bought that 3 times to come close to say WoW's sub, you're still missing a full week out of a month. Gotta say man, if you want some priority in this game, you're going to get raked over the coals. The gold spam in chat is also HORRENDOUS during main play hours. It even spills into the LFG channel. This is not something shocking for an Asian based MMO. It is however super bad in choking out any real convos.
The good? Well, the graphics are pretty cool and the game is fluid. The humor will catch you by surprise as it's fairly modern. While the names are of course very Korean, you won't feel like you don't "get" the game because it tackles only Asian themed items. Combat is fun and definitely throws you back to Terra, Vindictus, RaiderZ, etc. It has a bit more WoW flair to it than those though. The game does bring new things to the table like the soul shield and the flying/float mechanic similar to what you think Age of WuShu does. The polish of this game will keep you coming back. There is no signs of poor "Engrish" in this game. Everything seems to be translated very well. Will it keep me coming back for more? Stay tuned to find out!
