BlankBlood is a game by FoxTail and came prior to "BlankBlood Plus" which was part of a ryona "mini-game" compilation (along with Milia Wars and Zanarabi; the triple pack was called "りょなげの缶詰" or "Ryonage no Kanzume). It's a decent and challenging little doujin (or indie) game and significantly better than BlankBlood Plus.

The object of the game is simple: Two girls, Ryo(u)ko and Nana are trapped inside an underground, monster-filled dungeon, and must find a way to stay alive long enough to escape. There are lots of devious traps and a few tricky foes, so if you've played games like "I Wanna Be The Guy", then you'll know what to expect (though this game isn't as devious). Ryoko is faster than Nana, but has shorter range. Nana has longer range, but doesn't move as quickly and has to reload her gun at regular intervals. The game also has a few dozen treasures that you can discover, most which reward points or make your journey a little easier in some way. For example, you can find better weapons for Ryoko and Nana (such as a samurai blade with more reach and power for Ryoko or a rail gun of sorts for Nana) or you need certain items to progress further, though you won't need some of them right away.

The game has pretty simple visuals and it runs at a smooth and consistant 40FPS, but the game has a few neat animations for the various ways characters die, get hit, attack, etc. I like how Ryoko has a standard idle animation when she has good health, a somewhat tired animation when wounded a good bit, and an exhausted animation when she's near death. The characters can also get smacked into walls and crack them (releasing rocks), sufficate from poisonous gas, get lacerated in a few believable ways, or just get pounded in general. The game features several bosses, checkpoints, and such, and is a pretty decent game. Of course, it also has ryona content, though it's pretty mild, as this game focuses more on the gameplay.

This is a video of the game. It is freely distributed, but due to the nature of the game, I won't publicly provide the link. If you really want to find it, it should be easy to find provided you have the English and Japanese name to search on Google (or Google Japan), which is right in the title of this video anyway.
