Lode Runner 3-D Game Sample - N64
It may not be very pretty, it may not look very appealing, it may not sound so great, and it's probably not the best game ever made, but it IS Lode Runner-- well, it's based around the long-running Lode Runner franchise anyway. Developed by Big Bang Software in 1999, the game adds another dimension to the series-- the third one, which adds a whole new level of puzzle madness; considering the kind of game this is, that's very important! If you're into games where you collect items and trap enemies while staying alive long enough to reach the end of a level, then you should enjoy this one.
The story is laughable, but okay for this kind of game. The "Emperor Monk" hijacked all the gold from your outlying sectors and you're going to stop them with a LR blast-gun that can vaporize the floor beneath you but can't slay the space monks! Now you gotta go all over the place to get the gold back. Different levels have different objects and such that you can utilize to reach gold or access areas you can't with just you gun alone. There are also bonus stages which help you earn extra lives. You'll come across enemies which can be temporarily trapped in block holes you've created (or defeated if timed right, though they will just respawn). Collect all the gold to open the exit to clear the levels.
