Someone was asking about rendering an xrd style character in blender. I based most of it off the following links.

Some issues with this setup are that the face weights are used for the line thickness and bones so it breaks the rig. It shouldn’t be too hard to create a script to transfer the painted line thickness weights to a vertex color channel. I’m also not using a color ramp so the edges are rough.
