Well, I pretty much got everything I wanted out of this session. I finally found and beat the boss who has the claws I needed and I made it to the game's final respite. That should allow me to grab Ending B next time... and then it'll just be a matter of finding the remaining stone tablets, forming them into the special item and equipping it to get the game's best ending. Sounds simple enough when I put it that way, right?

It turns out that the reason why I couldn't progress through the rest of the Twin Spires area is because I neglected to flip a switch in one of its areas. In retrospect, that was a pretty boneheaded mistake. But considering how much difficulty I had facing down with Ulv, the Mad Knight -- the area's boss -- compared to the other bosses in the game's back half, maybe it was all for the best. Hell, despite the fact that it was the penultimate boss I faced, I actually had to go searching for more Chains of Sorcery to equip additional Relics in order to beat him. I'm honestly not sure how I feel about that. Is it possible that Ender Lilies adjusts boss difficulty based on how many you've already defeated? Or would I have essentially just been slamming my head against a wall if I'd fought him when I was "supposed to"?

Once I finally got my hands on those claws -- pun not intended -- I decided to do a little exploring. My original plan was to find six of the seven Stone Tablets needed to item necessary to get Ending A. Based on what I've seen in the Steam Achievements, people seem to be more likely to get that than Ending B -- which is unlocked by beating the true final boss without said item. I wasn't sure if getting the item just ends up locking you out for finishing the game that way... but I figured it was better to not take any chances.

Alas, I was only able to find two more tablets this time around. It seems like the claws weren't quite the shot in the arm I needed to explore ALL of the areas that were kept away from me. There was this one particular area I thought it would give me access to... but unfortunately it was wrong. I did notice some grapple points that appeared to be the wrong color, so I'm planning on looking into that before my next session. On the plus side, I decided to pivot and managed to make it to the game's final respite. The Blighted Lord should be waiting on the other side. So, I'll start with Ending B, then backtrack to grab the remaining tablets -- and of course, go back to that area at the start to form the necessary item -- and then knock him out once more for good measure.

Surely, being this confident won't be my undoing... right?
