Blue Code: Part 1 (SoftAd Group, 1991, MS-DOS), running on DOSBox.

00:00 BOOTUP

00:15 INTRO

You have the vague feeling that something is wrong here. You have absolutely no idea where you are or what you are doing here. The last thing you remember is leaving the party. Ah yes, the party. You remember that you were there and felt extraordinarily well. But that must have been hours ago.

It's getting late, and somewhere in the middle of town something must have gone terribly wrong. The alternator? oil? Petrol? Maybe you can fix it yourself. The V-belt?
Let's see if there's a phone nearby.

"Robin? Listen, the Wizard is in the Blue Code. Take the suitcase there. Good luck! I love you!" -Click Who on earth is Robin? And which suitcase? Where is the Blue Code?

Suddenly you realize that a strange looking man is grinning at you

"Come on then, Robin, take care. And don't forget the Blue Code."
He disappears as quickly as he appeared.

So there you are, sitting next to a phone booth in a strange part of town and with a suitcase, chained to her wrist and the contents of which you do not know. You're beginning to feel like things are getting out of hand.

02:03 MUSICIAN

"Hello, Robin, how are you?"
You have never seen this man.
"How about a few marks for an old musician?"

"Hey man, thanks. I think I'll go over to Smokin' Joe's and get a hamburger.
Listen, if you ever want to get in there, just say 'LIGHT MY FIRE' to the doorman and he'll let you through right away. See you then."

05:20 DARK ALLEY

You turn on your flashlight.
At the end of the street you see what looks like a man.
Would you like to investigate?

He's still breathing. From the bump on his head you can tell he won't be waking up for a while. As you take a closer look at the man, you notice that he looks remarkably like you. Are you searching the man?

You'll find some interesting things; among other things, a packet of Philip Morris Light American, an invitation to a vernissage, and an ID card stating that this man's name is Robin Schmidt. No sign of money.

06:00 NEWSPAPER

COMPUTER SPECIALIST STILL MISSING. Munich - Martin Risk, the world famous computer scientist, is still missing. The police still do not rule out criminal backgrounds. At the time of his disappearance, Risk was working on a revolutionary discovery in the field of computer research. Supposedly, this discovery should make it possible to use the computer to directly influence all of the operator's senses: sight, smell, even touch. If Risk's invention really works, it should bring him millions. "He's the envy of the entire computer industry," said one of his colleagues. "We are deeply saddened by his disappearance."

07:03 GALLERY

"ROBIN! Nice that you're here. I wasn't quite sure if you were coming," she says, and then whispers, "because of the handover and everything. I assume everything went smoothly."

"Well, honestly..." you blurt out, but she just keeps talking

"I find all this so exciting, don't you? I mean, who would assume that such intrigues were being spun in our circles?"

"What do you mean..." you want to ask

"Oh, I just hope he didn't end up with the wrong people. Wouldn't that be terrible? Martin said they wanted this -- what's that called? His Igna… Ignaface?"

"His interface?"
She nods.

“I think these criminals want his interface to rob banks or something. Wouldn't that be awful? Well -- I really have to go now. Bye."

She disappears into the gallery and leaves you alone.

08:26 OASIS

It's hot and crowded at the Oasis. As the crowd pushes you around, you notice a large wall of lights. They go towards it.

"Robin! Where have you been for so long? Well, it doesn't matter. Welcome to Project Blue Code!"

He unlocks the Handcuffs and takes the suitcase. He opens it and pulls out something that looks like a computer part.

"Finally, the last part for my interface. I can't tell you how glad I am that I finally have it. Here, take it."

He hands you the suitcase, turns around and puts the thing in a big metal box.

"This is just amazing. Do you have mine electric screwdriver? Oh, forget it, you can do without it. There, wait a minute, okay?" He gives you a small monitor.

"Yeah! Now just a little adjustment and we're done... just a little... Here, put this on." He pulls something over your head.

"Okay, tell me how does that feel..." Martin flips on a switch.

Your whole skin tingles and you have a dull feeling in your head. As a kind of electronic fog envelops you, you realize in a last lucid moment that you have probably completely lost control.
