It is very interesting that the C64 version of Blue Max uses bigger sprites which make the game look nicer, but it has a negative effect on the playability. The big sprites create a smaller play area, which in turn gives much less time to react. This is the most evident and the bridge bombings, where on the C64 there is only a couple of seconds to position the plane properly.
