Bob Dylan issues an apology
The 81-year-old 'Blowin' In The Wind' singer was embroiled in a controversy after $600 limited edition copies of his book 'The Philosophy of Modern Song' were advertised as "hand-signed" but were later discovered to have been autographed with an "autopen" that replicated his scrawl.
Simon & Schuster executives recognised the error and gave reimbursements, and Dylan has now revealed how the problem arose. In a statement on his Facebook page, he said "To my fans and followers, I’ve been made aware that there’s some controversy about signatures on some of my recent artwork prints and on a limited edition of ‘Philosophy Of Modern Song.’ I’ve hand-signed each and every art print over the years, and there’s never been a problem."
Dylan went on to inform followers that after experiencing vertigo and being trapped in lockdown during the pandemic, he opted to employ a machine to assist him with signing sessions.
