We all know the blobfish, the creature that became an internet meme immediately after discovery. Bob, the animated version of this creature, is expectedly more adorable than the real-life version. But will they be alike when it comes to behavior?

But before we talk about their behavioral traits, let's get some things clear. According to Bob's wiki fandom profile, blobfish are boneless creatures with no muscles in their bodies. This statement contradicts an AAAS article that explains how blobfish have soft bones and a few muscles.

Another thing is, their slimy-like appearance only occurs to their bodies when they are out of the water. When they are thousands of miles below sea-level, they do not look weird at all.
To prove this, LeisurePro.com states that it’s because when they are in their natural depth, the water pressure holds their appearance. That’s why once the Blobfishes are on the surface, they turn into their goo-like appearance. So technically speaking, the pink and slimy appearance of Bob in the show is only partially accurate.

Now that that is clear let us move on to blobfish behavior. This rare marine animal is known as passive or calm by the My Animals website. This trait corresponds with Bob's of the show since he and his brothers are only seen waiting for food to come to them. Blobfish are the same, too; they consume prey that floats around them.

Additionally, Fact Animal reveals that Blobfishes don’t have teeth, so they don’t bite. They just consume microscopic bacteria and sea creatures that appear. Also, they do not possess any swim bladder like most fishes. That’s why, they only rely on their jelly-like flesh for their needed support.
