Bob McGrath has died
One of "Sesame Street's" original cast members, Bob McGrath, passed away on Sunday at the age of 90, according to his family.
“Our father Bob McGrath, passed away today,” his family posted on Facebook. “He died peacefully at home, surrounded by his family.”
The children's programme premiered in 1969 with four original cast members, including McGrath, an Illinois native. According to his IMDb profile, he appeared on the venerable PBS programme for 460 episodes up until 2017. His character's name was Bob.
Along with Matt Robinson as Gordon, Loretta Long played Susan, Gordon's wife, and Will Lee played Mr. Hooper in the original human cast.
“The kids we were meant to reach, I think we’ve reached,” McGrath said in an 1998 interview with the Sun-Times.
