2What is "From the Depths"? It's a machine-building game, a resource mining game, and a military strategy game all rolled into one. You are situated on an ocean planet and need to extract resources to build ships, airplanes, and weapons of war. And spaceships too. Because you have enemies, and even if you don't go looking for them, they will come and kick your shiny bee-hind if you don't get ready to kick theirs first. So build your dreadnoughts, your missile patrol boats, your airplanes and bombs, and get ready to do unto others before they do unto you.
If I continue this series, next up is probably going to be a story mode mission that I have failed up until now, and after that a campaign.
From the Depths is in Early Access on Steam, and I highly recommend it... IF you have a fairly high threshold for frustration. It has a pretty steep learning curve and it is in Alpha so that means that all the bugs aren't worked out either. But if you are up for all that, it's a very intriguing game. I saw it being played on other people's Lets Plays and knew I had to have it.
