Wow, ok, so a lot of good here.

The physics based playground is just fun. It's likely a novelty but it's damn fun right now.

The game is pretty. Not the absolute most pretty VR game ever but very easy on the eyes.

I love the audio tracks so far. The voice acting thus far has been great. The 'Hey' the null bodies make is super unsettling and everything just adds up to a very creepy atmosphere that has you tense. There was a distinct shift in the gameplay tone from the tutorial to the streets level. Very well done here.

And since we're talking about voice acting I guess we need to mention actual acting this time... I don't know exactly how I feel about the retro Sega CD feel of blending live action into my video game but for now it's amusing.

The game definitely feels very much like a Half Life title. Not only does it make me eager to continue playing Boneworks but also amps up my hype for Alyx as well.

Having the physics based combat system adds so much more depth to the combat than you'd expect. Having to physically restrain an enemy or push them off of you as you bludgeon them just makes it feel so much more... real. I'm not some super hero. I'm just a guy being accosted and I happen to have a brick in my hand. It's a hard feeling to convey but one I encourage all of you to try.

Not only do the enemies grab on to you, they also grab onto your weapon. One enemy trying to snatch my beloved hammer away from me. That bastard...
I'm very pleased with how Boneworks is shaping up and I'm just in hour 2.

It's not all sunshine and roses. There are some issues.

Holstering weapons frequently drops them on the ground instead. Some better indicator that I'm in the appropriate zone to release a weapon other than a sound after the fact would be nice.

Some physics interactions are... .wonkey. I found my arm inside things. My hammer stuck with something next to it instead of inside of it. Large metal crates that I would expect to hold my weight wouldn't. Etc. Basic physics game issues are also present here.

Right now, these are minor but I can see them getting very annoying as I progress. Hopefully more refinement will come with more feedback.

What did you think? Have you played Boneworks?
