Boomhammer 2.0 - Deleting Mechs from the Game - Mechwarrior Online The Daily Dose #289
875The Double AC20 Boomhammer has always been one of my favourite builds. With the new Civil War Tech we have now access to the tools for even bigger close range pinpoint alpha strikes.
The flaw of the old build was the ghost heat that 2 AC20s generate when they are fired at the same time. This problem is completely mitigated by taking 2 Snub-nose PPCs and a single AC20. The alpha strike stays the same and you can fire everything together. The only drawback is the different projectile speed. So make sure that get extremely close when you fire your weapons combined.
This Warhammer build even has space for an additional SRM4 with Artemis, which bumps up the damage even more. I did not take an SRM6 because I wanted to bring the damage to a single point and also the ammo is relatively limited. The bigger launcher would have gone through that faster without catering to the purpose of the build: Instant component destruction.
