Boulder Dash: Treasure Pleasure is a 2003 game part of the legendary dexterity and logic series, originally launched in 1984. This "newer" game, like all previous editions, is about traversing various labyrinths and collecting precious stones.

This time the action was set in a marine climate and the adventure of a pair of treasure hunters (blonde Rockford and copper-haired Crystal) was presented to the users. The duo has to go through sixty complicated stages (the choice of the board is made by navigating the sailing ship on the map) in three different environments (exploring the ship's rooms, swimming in the deep sea and walking on the desert island), appropriating as many precious jewels as possible along the way. It should be stressed that there are a number of useful objects (e.g. explosives) and various obstacles of extremely dangerous characters (falling balls, venomous spiders, armed pirates, etc.).

More than twenty instructional levels provide an introduction to the game.

The object of the Boulder Dash game is to score as many points as possible by collecting sparkles. For this you walk on a map from cave to cave and pick up enough sparkles so that the gate opens and you can exit the cave. Beware in the meantime because various enemies are hindering your task.

-- Video creator notes --
This game was released on several websites, including FlyorDie.com, and Zylom.com. I have found and English version as well as a Dutch version from Zylom. It was also released on shockwave.com and made available on PlayJam enabled smart devices. I was able to find the full version of the game after recording, which I tested. It is however not using the original installer. I also have the full Dutch version of the game.

GOAL

The object of the game is to 'clear' or 'conquer' as many of the game's 60 levels as you can. Collect the required number of gems to ‘clear’ a level. To ‘conquer’ a level you must produce/collect all of the gems that are possible for that level. The goal for each level is to pick up enough diamonds so that the exit opens and you can advance to the next level before time runs out. Beware of falling objects, enemies and growing walls.

Delisting
Boulder Dash: Treasure Pleasure was initially released on shockwave.com and was sold as a standalone PC title through the portal site FlyorDie.com. The game was likely removed from sale in 2017 after First Star Software transferred ownership of the Boulder Dash property to BBG Entertainment. However, FlyorDie would not confirm the game’s removal until September of 2019 when they explained “we had to stop selling Boulder Dash games due to legal reasons”.

The game is readily found on many dubious “free game” sites around the internet but the anonymous contributor who submitted Treasure Pleasure to the site pointed out that these are all trial versions. A cracked or edited full version of the game is available but we will not link directly to this download. Interestingly, some versions of the game are still connected to FlyorDie’s high score tables and as of May 2020 several players were still setting high scores in the game.

In 2011 the game was licensed to PlayJam and included in their library of titles available on internet-connected smart devices.
