Bounded Accuracy in 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons and RPG Game Design
Nerdarchy discusses the under lying principle behind D&D 5e, Math. The math of 5th edition makes it simpler and superior to any previous edition of Dungeons and Dragons or Pathfinder in my opinion. I like the way the scale works in 5e, because it keeps a lot of the parts of the game for much longer than in other versions of the game. In the past whole sections would grow useless to the DM after several levels of game play. If you wanted to use weaker monsters from the D&D MM you had to get real creative with them.
