Brain Dead 13 is a survival horror adventure game released for the Sega Saturn in 1996. It was developed by ReadySoft and features a point-and-click interface. Players control the character Lance Galahad, who is trapped in a haunted castle and must solve puzzles and avoid deadly traps in order to escape. The game features pre-rendered graphics and a B-movie style storyline. It received mixed reviews upon release, with some praising the game's visuals and atmosphere, while others criticized its difficulty and lack of replayability.

Review:
I was very impressed by this game. I love the art style. So full of character. Brilliant cartoon animation on par with a 90’s Disney movie. The gameplay is the same as the original Laser Disc games like Dragon’s Lair and Space Ace. The difference is that you get infinite continues so you can potentially do this in one go without having to restart over and very doing the same bits. This makes the game much more regarding and actually feel possible to figure out.
It's also unique in the way that you can make up your own route through the game and tackle bosses in different orders.
I printed off a guide from Gamefaqs as I wanted to do this ASAP in one sitting rather than the torturous trial and error. It would have been OK to do in the 90’s when you paid £50 for this game but now I have thousands of games to get through and only one lifetime.
The guide itself had a couple of mistakes which slowed down my run as I had to work out the button presses in some sections. These parts were really time consuming. So, I’ll write down the rejigged guide below.
It’s still difficult to look up and down at the guide and the screen alternatively and keep your place on the guide.
You will hear a lot of annoying ‘donk’ sounds throughout this playthrough. That is because I don’t know the exact timing of the button inputs so I had to press them a few times to ensure I hit them in the correct timing window.
I enjoyed this game and it’s even better to watch again after you complete it as you are concentrating more on hitting the buttons than watching the beautiful animation.
