Continuing with the story my group encounters Braev the Templar.

He likes using Default, then attacking multiple times in a row. This is actually quite irritating as damage reduction during Default kills many a turn and Utsusemi will only take care of a single attack per character. Still, he is a single target attacker only, so there is barely any real risk. When at low HP, he over-braves, leaving himself wide open.

My general strategy was trying to inflict the Status Ailment Dread on him using Special Moves. This Ailment prevents him from using both Brave and Default. However, it is automatically dispelled rather fast, so things did not work out as expected. Still, the battle worked out without too many problems. I also managed to Steal his Claymore, though it ultimately led to Special Moves running out.
