General Lonsdale is in charge around here and he already figured out the party's intentions. The party still has no choice but to bust King Vernon out of prison, since Adam wants to execute him and draft the citizens.
Lonsdale doesn't agree with Adam's methods, but he believes he's obligated to pay back the debt he owes to the latter's father.

Note that the Oracle not only casts Haste spells, they can also change the element of an ally's physical attack.
While you can use Counter Savvy to deal with most of Lonsdale's counters, he can still stack a ton of buffs on himself, so you'll need Freelancer as a sub job on someone to dispel him. If you have enough classes at level 12, you can use Swordmaster/Freelancer to get some really high stats.
