In this part, we start by backtracking through Route 2 to get back to Wedgehurst, along the way we catch a Yamper - Lightning. Once we arrive in Wedgehurst, Hop gives us TM40 (Swift) and we make preparations to hop on the Train to Motostoke. Just before we get on, we are stopped by our parents and receive a set of Camping Gear (I will not be camping throughout this Walkthrough, but the idea is to camp to play with your Pokémon and make them friendly as you could do in other games), before actually getting on the train. When we get off the train, we arrive in the Wild Area just outside of Motostoke. In the train station, you can find a couple in the corner, the man will give you a Gigantamaxable Eevee if you have a save file from Lets Go, Eevee! and the woman will give you a Gigantamaxable Pikachu if you have a save file from Lets Go, Pikachu!

The Wild Area is a very large section of the game that is split in two sections separated by a bridge, the area beyond the bridge is far higher than our current level and should be avoided. I didn't thoroughly explore either section of the Wild Area as it would take far too long and the weather conditions make an important difference on what Pokémon appear. The same can be said for the items laying about as they will respawn over the course of a few days to a week. Instead I explored a few areas to give an example of what to see and expect, and I demonstrated a Max Raid Battle.

Below are the most important things to know about the Wild Area:

Pokémon

The Pokémon found here can be in the grass or the "!" types you'll find on Routes, however you can also find certain ones wandering around in the open. These wandering ones are usually MUCH stronger than you and because of that, you cannot catch them just yet. Each Gym Badge you collect will allow you to catch up to 5 levels higher than your current cap until you have all eight and can catch anything.

Items

As said before these will respawn over the course of a few days to a week. The exception being TM's. You can farm Evolution Stones in the second area of the Wild Area, but that's a long ways away still.

Weather

The weather conditions will change what Pokémon are currently available in that sector of the Wild Area. The weather can vary from Snowy, Blizzards, Sunny, Overcast, Rain, Thunderstorms, Drought, Sandstorms, and the rare Fog/Mist.

Pokémon Dens

You notice these rock formations on the ground in the shape of a honeycomb, these are Pokémon Dens. While glowing red, you can collect a form of currency called "Watts" from them, active dens will give you more Watts than inactive ones. Inactive Dens will just have a slight glow around them and can become active if you throw a Wishing Star into them. Active Dens have a large beam that shoots up into the sky, the beam can be either Red or Purple. Once you look into an Active Den, you'll see the silhouette of the Pokémon inside and you can then decide if you want to fight it and attempt to catch it. Battling and trying to catch these Pokémon is called a Max Raid Battle.

Max Raid Battles

When you decide to battle a Den Pokémon, you can choose to play alone, in which case three CPU Trainers will join you to "assist" you (They usually ruin it on harder battles), or you can choose to connect to the Internet and play with up to 3 other people, and the remaining slots will be filled by CPU's. You can only bring one Pokémon with you into the den to fight the Pokémon inside, so make sure you pick a Type Advantage, if any of the Pokémon in your 4-Man Squad faint up to 3 times, you'll be kicked out of the den! The Pokémon inside will be Dynamaxed, or Gigantamaxed (If they look normal, but just bigger its a Dynamax), and the person that started the battle will be able to Dynamax too. If that person chooses not to, then next player in line will be offered the chance to Dynamax. While battling a Pokémon, it may put up a barrier to weaken your attacks. Regular attacks will remove one section of the barrier, while a Dynamaxed attack will remove two. Once the barrier is broken, the Pokémon will take damage and it's defenses will drop drastically. Higher ranked Pokémon can put up multiple barriers. Once the Pokémon is defeated, everyone has a chance to catch it on their own. The odds of you catching it increase slightly if you got the final hit, and increase dramatically if you started the battle.

Watts

You'll notice several men dressed in Black & White throughout the Wild Area. These men will trade you Rare Poke Ball types, Wishing Stars, and Training Records (TR's) in exchange for your Watts. The amount of Watts you receive from Dens will also increase as you progress through the game with up to a max of 2,000 from an Active Den.

After exploring we finally enter Motostoke via the large staircase. Once inside, we run into Sonia and she explains League Cards before giving us our first, Leon's.
