Today Fractal Audio Systems released the first version of their Quantum Firmware for the Axe-FX range. That was enough to drag me out of my sickbed (flu) for an hour to install and try it out. It sounded wonderful so I grabbed the Brian May, wrote a sort of "Wembley" preset and let rip with Pro Tools capturing the Axe-FX and one camera running. Hell, I had to upload something this week! Only after I'd started did I realise that I knew precisely none of the licks from that performance. Ha! No matter, you'll get the idea. At least I had a sixpence on hand.

The signal chain runs: guitar, treble booster, phaser, amp, cab, dual delay, reverb.

The guitar came from the best guitar shop in Perth, The Rock Inn. Many thanks to Shaun and Andrew. More about the guitar soon.

The Axe-FX preset used in this video can be downloaded from http://axechange.fractalaudio.com/detail.php?preset=3654 . Just remember you've got be running Quantum 1 to use it.

Now back to bed for me.
