Build a Mini Airport in SimCity SNES with Zone Stacking - A Wild Glitch Appears! #simcity
610The Zone Stacking exploit in SimCity for the SNES allows you to shave down the space that some of your units take up. In this example, I'm going to show you how to create an airport that occupies a 4x4 plot rather than the normal 6x6 area.
The basic premise behind the Zone Stacking technique is this: When you place a residential zone, it will often develop into individual homes before it becomes something like an apartment complex or R-2 or R-3 for example.
When you bulldoze these individual homes, it will free up that space for building more units. But if you place something like a Stadium or a Seaport where those individual homes used to be, then you BULLDOZE the R in the residential area, the game will still clear a 3x3 space, meaning the spot where those individual homes used to be will also be cleared, EVEN IF you've since built something on top of it.
In other words, that Seaport or Stadium will now be missing squares corresponding to the individual homes you built it on top of.
So, let's talk about building a mini airport. The first thing you're going to do is place a Residential Area, then place two more directly below it and two more directly to the right of it. Now place another residential area so that the R is two squares below the bottom right corner of the top right residential area, and then build another Residential Area directly below that one.
Now wait for the houses to start developing, and once the bottom most Residential Areas are fully housed out, bulldoze the bottom inner houses and place two more Residential Areas so that they overlap the bottom two innermost spaces of your previously built residential areas.
Now when the entire inside of the residential plots you've built become homes, bulldoze them. This should create a 6x6 area inside the residential areas. Place an airports in the middle of all these residential areas, then bulldoze the R's of ALL the residential areas. If you did it right, the airport on the inside will now be reduced to a 4x4 area.
This mini airport still counts as a fully functional airport, and meets the growth requirements of your Sim City.
