Building Up Combos While Trapped In A Roguelike Deckbuilder Loop | Novus Orbis demo
Hello everyone! More demos from the Steam Next Fest! This is Novus Orbis, a roguelike deckbuilder, where, apparently, we are going through a loop in the same place, going through morning, afternoon, and night, while enemies get stronger and stronger (hopefully you too). The deckbuilder mechanics, are the default ones, with the difference that there is a combo mechanic; most cards have a combo trigger, which means that if you play them when you have that combo, they will get a boost (more damage, lower mana cost or maybe extra effects), and your combo will increase. Besides that, you can also get pets, who will fight with you. I got one, and I think I messed up getting a second one (during most of the events they asked me for cards, I assumed it was just to get rid of one, not to offer them).
The game is pretty good, but it lacks some identity or some special charm to it to make you play this over other deckbuilders or to recommend it to someone else, like "play it because of...". Not saying that the game is bad at all, just the the market is full of deckbuilders and I feel like you need something special to stand out.
