94The investigators have encountered many strange and horrific sights in their travels, but a ghost is a first for them. The spirit of Hancock had attacked them but, though quick thinking and well chosen words, his spectre was put at rest. It wasn’t long before they uncovered what remained of the man, hidden behind a loose panel upstairs, doubly confirming that he as gone.
Many questions remain unanswered however. Who killed him and why? What were they searching for in his home and did they find it? The letters they’d been given pointed to him hiding something, but what could be so important that people would be willing to commit such brutal acts to locate it?
