I apologise if you hear any quiet background noise during this video. Next door had begun some major renovations and for the first day, that involved a lot of drilling. I tried to keep what was caught by my microphone to a minimum.

While Terri and the party have slowly been working their way through the sphere, the only clue they’ve found on how to get home is that the exit can only be opened by the master of the sphere, Lavok. To say that Lavok is unlikely to be sympathetic to our situation is an understatement and even if he was, we’re no longer on the prime material plane; compared to the abyss, the interior of the sphere is a much more friendly place. We can’t hope to rescue Imoen while we’re stranded here, however, so a confrontation with the ancient magician is inevitable. Whether it’ll end in Lavok’s defeat remains to be seen.

The sphere is unique so far in that it’s a quest you can’t complete piece-mail. Once you activate the plane shift of the sphere, the only hope of going back outside of clearing the quest is to have a save from before you entered. It’s not going to be the only time in the game where we’re unable to resupply easily and if anything, this short excursion where you must rely only on the resources you brought with you is good training for later when that period is far longer and more dangerous. Believe me when I tell you that while this may seem tricky at points, it’s nothing compared to what we’ll face in the future.
