Welcome to Illsmouth, a little fishing town in New England. It is 1910 and Halley’s Comet is about to make its appearance and John Parker is ready to capture this event with camera.
Parker had read about Lord Boleskine who had learned that the town and its surroundings are the best place to capture the comets passing. Lord Boleskine himself wanted to test his theory in 1834 and travelled to Illsmouth to witness the event. Unfortunately, Lord Boleskine lost his mind during his stay at Illsmouth and spent rest of his life in lunatic asylum.
John Parker is eager to succeed where his predecessor had failed. So, three days before the comet Parker travels to Illsmouth. A quaint little town where everybody is so welcoming and absolutely nothing can go wrong.
Call of Cthulhu: Shadow of the comet is an adventure game released in 1993 by Infogrames and it is based on H. P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu stories and lore. Player controls John Parker and tackles different puzzles and problems through three-day period. Originally released on floppy disks and later CD-ROM. CD-ROM version added voiced speech and mouse support as the original release didn’t include either.
