16The plot of Call of Duty: Black Ops II takes place largely in the year 2025, decades after that of its predecessor. The superpowers USA and China operate with modern drones, airplanes and protective suits. They are threatened by Raul Menendez, who wants to provoke a global conflict. The motives behind his actions can be found in the second storyline from the 80s, in which you come across familiar characters from Black Ops 1. The somewhat more complex story of Black Ops 2 was created by David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight), among others. There are also different progressions and endings, depending on your achievements and decisions made during the campaign. I'm showing the version of the story that made the most sense to me and which I believe is the most canon. Have fun watching it!
