This is probably patched by now but I thought it really interesting.

To get the challenge that requires you to beat three characters and then survive in Ultimate Smash, you must be alive for at least one minute solo. Now the first part is easy enough. You can see I just spammed Counter.

A big thanks to BlazingFlare for figuring this out. If you pause the game in Cruel Smash mode, the timer is still counting. As shown afterwards, it does count for the purposes of this challenge. Amazing.
