Here we go with the last two games in the set, the two that had never had home releases until now.

Armored Warrior: Giant robots. What can go wrong? In this one, not much actually. Even better that the robots are modular and you can strap on pieces of enemy mechs to your own. It's the only game in this set with a third button, for use with sub weapons. You start with, at least on the red mech, a machine gun, and can upgrade to rocket launchers, napalm launcher, bomb launcher, lasers, and my favorite, the flame thrower. Arm upgrades include a shield with a missile launcher, a grabber arm, a drill, a laser sword, and an electrified claw. Legs can even get upgraded with tank treads, hover craft, or spider legs. Some of these add-ons can be quite potent, letting you tear through mobs and bosses. There's some cheapness in this one, particularly with the end boss, but overall it was well done and a lot of fun.

Battle Circuit: Whoo boy, I wasn't sure what I was expecting but I wasn't expecting that. This game is a drug trip. Capcom went with humor in this and some funny designs, hoping it would sell. And, honestly, it works on me. If a game's theme amuses me, it makes me more likely to continue playing. And this one, like Captain Commando's Baby Commando before it, was a treat. One of the playable characters is an alien plant, so I had to pick that one. This game also features an upgrade system where you can buy power ups for your character. Pretty neat, but not particularly great in my opinion. It's also one of the few games with a four player option. There's some cheapness here and there, particularly in bosses, but you also get a chance to heal yourself. Overall, the theme alone has me sold on it, so I had fun.

Which makes 5 [Edit: 4, turns out Captain Commando wasn't that good] of the 7 games in this collection enjoyable! The addition of some extras, mostly artwork, as well as the ability to play online helps sell this set to me. Plus you do have access to Japanese versions, as well as difficulty selection. I'm not sure if that's the full dipswitch selection available (dipswitches being how the arcade owners could optimize and adjust the games if they wished), or if there were revisions of the machines that I'd like to see included as well. But it's a good set with fun, classic Capcom brawlers. If you like the genre, this is practically a must-own. -- Watch live at https://www.twitch.tv/the_nametag
