0Alright, let's tweak some game options, increase the resolution, apply no filters and change the wallpaper as I attempt to complete the arcade version of 'Capcom vs. SNK 2: Millionaire Fighting 2001' (AKA the Japanese version of 'Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001') as Player 2. Also, who'd have thought that in the year 2025, 'Capcom vs. SNK 2' would receive an entire remixed soundtrack that actually sounds great in my opinion?
It should be a known fact by now that this game has a number of rather stringent stipulations for reaching certain secret bosses. In order to reach the mid-boss (who is either Geese Howard or M. Bison/Vega depending on the selected Groove), one must satisfy all of the following conditions before the 4th match:
Complete at least 2 matches with a Custom Combo or Super Combo finish
Have at least 800 Groove Points
Never get hit by more than 5 First Hits in any match before the 4th fight.
Additionally, in order to encounter the end boss (who is either Akuma/Gouki or Rugal depending on the selected Groove), one must satisfy two of the following conditions by the end of the so-called "final stage":
Defeat M. Bison/Vega or Geese
End a round with at least 2 Level 3 Super Combo Finishes
Finish with at least 4 special KOs
Have at least 1000 Groove Points.
Furthermore, in order to fight against the actual final boss of this game (who is either Shin Akuma or Ultimate/God Rugal), one must satisfy two of the following conditions:
Defeat M. Bison/Vega or Geese
Get at least one Finest K.O.
Have at least 1500 Groove Points.
Speaking of Finest K.O., that particular condition can be satisfied by doing one of the following:
Counter a Super Combo attack with a Special Move
Counter a Special Move with a Level 3/MAX Super Combo
Counter a Super Combo with a Super Combo
Finish an taunting opponent with a Level 3/MAX Super Combo.
Believe me, it's not easy to try and achieve most, if not all of the conditions listed above when the CPU opponents are rather ruthless on the default difficulty (hence the reason why I adjusted some game options and whatnot).
So yeah, let's see how many Groove Points I can acquire with a fan favorite character from 'Final Fight 2' who, in addition to being a playable fighter here, made an appearance in 'Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX' (or 'Street Fighter Zero 3 Double Upper' as it's known in Japan), AKA the PlayStation Portable version of 'Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper'.
