Cardinal Quest 2 || Chapter 3 Playthrough || Indie RPG Rogue-Like
A surpridingly GOOD turn-based rogue-like dungeon crawler![
Note: Rogue-likes are hit or miss for me, some are too difficult, some rely too much on "luck" rather than skill, and others just seem like cheap knock-offs of others, this one felt unique to me and I thoroughly enjoyed my short runs through it.
+ Great chiptune soundtrack
+ Very easy to grasp (low learning-curve)
+ Strategic Gameplay / Problem Solving (you need to plan out your attacks)
+ Very pleasing graphics, there's a charm to it, and you could tell some time was taken to really make each stage of the level feel different from the last.
+ Thrilling Bosses, each time I get this sensation that I could die so easily from a bad decision and feel as if I barely manage to kill the boss (which is fantastic)
- Minimalistic, you can basically play the entire game using 4 keys, I feel like some people may think this game is "too simple", there could have been greater depth in the gameplay mechanics
- Story is lacking
