Simon Belmont is back on business, because apparently he didn't kill Dracula dead enough the first time. His body is afflicted by a horrible curse that can only be purified by collecting Dracula's remains and burning them.
Castlevania II: Simon's Quest was originally released by Konami in 1987 or 1988 for the Nintendo Entertainment System aka the NES. I'm so glad they kept the typos and grammatical errors from the original version in this one (I'm playing on the Castlevania Anniversary Collection on Nintendo Switch).
In this episode, Simon Belmont purchases a Chain Whip and a Dagger in the town of Veros. Then he heads into the town of Aljiba, and exchanges a White Crystal for a Blue Crystal. He also obtains the Sacred Flame, a Silver Knife, some Garlic, and some Laurels. Then he braves Rover Mansion and finds Dracula's Heart.
In order to access Rover Mansion, Simon must bring a Blue Crystal to Yuba Lake. Equip the Blue Crystal and kneel by the lake for five seconds, and a path will be revealed.
