Simon Belmont is back on business, because apparently he didn't kill Dracula dead enough the first time. His body is afflicted by a horrible curse that can only be purified by collecting Dracula's remains and burning them.
Castlevania II: Simon's Quest was originally released by Konami in 1987 or 1988 for the Nintendo Entertainment System aka the NES. I'm so glad they kept the typos and grammatical errors from the original version in this one (I'm playing on the Castlevania Anniversary Collection on Nintendo Switch).
In this episode, Simon Belmont leaves Jova (the starting town) and travels through the Jova Woods. He explores Berkeley Mansion and finds Dracula's Rib. We also purchase Holy Water and a White Crystal. Oh, and an Oak Stake that we almost immediately use (and it's a one-time use item).
