Simon Belmont is back on business, because apparently he didn't kill Dracula dead enough the first time. His body is afflicted by a horrible curse that can only be purified by collecting Dracula's remains and burning them.
Castlevania II: Simon's Quest was originally released by Konami in 1987 or 1988 for the Nintendo Entertainment System aka the NES. I'm so glad they kept the typos and grammatical errors from the original version in this one (I'm playing on the Castlevania Anniversary Collection on Nintendo Switch).
In this episode, Simon Belmont crosses Belasco Marsh and presents Dracula's Heart to the Ferryman at the Dead River. He defeats the game's first boss, Death (aka the Grim Reaper) in Brahm Mansion (sometimes it's spelled Braham or Brahm's). He acquires Dracula's Eyeball. Also he obtains a Diamond, exchanges his Blue Crystal for a Red one, upgrades his Chain Whip to a Morning Star, and acquires a Silk Bag. Man, he's working hard!
