No Damage Run

The Reverse Colosseum is a rather perilous area. It's filled with white dragons, minotaurs, werewolf, azaghals, and cow skulls! Additionally, given its rather confined design, it makes avoiding attacks tricky. Luckily, the major threats can be dealt with at a range; thanks Osafune Katana!

The boss, or rather bosses, of this area are Alucard's old friends from Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse. Trevor Belmont, Sypha Belnades, and Grant Danasty are back with most of their tricks intact. They aren't too happy to see Alucard though.

This boss fight is, against all odds, a fairly challenging one! All three are throwing all they have at Alucard in hopes of destroying him, and it makes for a lot of stuff to keep track of. Additionally, each boss gets new attacks when another falls, so choosing the order of destroying each one is important. Here's what you need to keep an eye on for each boss.

Trevor Belmont: He has the highest health, and sports his whip for melee prowess. Additionally, he'll whip (hah!) out his sub-weapons every time he gets hit (and occasionally at random intervals). I've seen him use the knives, bloody cross, and holy water sub-weapons for this fight. The bloody cross is the easiest to avoid since it won't travel far before arcing back to Trevor (though it will keep continuing in the backwards direction until it goes off-screen). The holy water is an annoying keep away item. The knives are definitely the worst since they will travel clear across the screen, and Alucard has little maneuvering room between all three bosses. Finally, once the two other bosses have been defeated, he'll occasionally start rapid firing knives, alternating up (standing height) and down (crouching height); if he starts that, either mist away or transform into a bat.

Sypha Belnades: I find her to be the most troubling of the three. Her first attack is an ice stream that grows larger the higher she's floating in air. It has a surprisingly large hit-box, so be very wary near it. After one other boss falls, she'll start using a fire stream attack in front of her. This hinders Alucard's mobility even further as it usually locks down flying past her. Finally, if she is the last standing, she'll resurrect Trevor as a zombie! While pretty neat and disturbing at the same time, undead Trevor is much more sluggish in this form.

Grant Danasty: He has the least health, and is the least annoying when all three bosses are alive. He'll try and crawl above Alucard and throw a knife down, but it's pretty easy to avoid; any attack will also cause him to fall off the ceiling (which allows Alucard to wail even further on him). However, if another boss falls before him, he'll jump down to the floor and pester Alucard by throwing knives at crouching level. Definitely not recommended, so all signs point to taking down Grant first.
