Catch The Wave (Social Chorus: Future Comms 2018)
I performed at a cool conference called FutureComms 2018, put on by a company called Social Chorus.

There’s been big waves in enterprise
Operations and marketing too
The wave is crashing over HR
And now it’s come for you
Are you gonna get up on that surfboard
And say ok let’s DO this
You turned off sharepoint years ago
And nobody noticed
Ey ey ey
Get off the beach and catch the wave
Forget status and pay grade
We got to reach everyone
Bechtel is using data
And Watson to predict
How things are gonna play out
So they can make decisions quick
Greg is driving for Uber
The onboarding was fantastic
Make sure to rate your drivers
The consequences can be drastic
Dow’s employees were weary
From the pace of rapid change
A 200 word press release
Was not enough to help em see the way
They piloted with 4000 users
A new way to get the message out
With exclusive content like bonus multipliers
They’re at 45000 now
And it takes an average of 7 months
For a man to say I love you
Pam helped rebrand Delphi
In that amount of time, too
They were coding in html
Every time they wanted to post
Now they got 12,000 users
Watching their videos
Sometimes you have to communicate
Some really, really boring stuff
It’s all right to push back on that
And say no, we’ve had enough
Erica ditched newsletter
And only one person even cared
If no one’s gonna read something
Just delete it, don’t be scared
CHORUS
You’re sitting in the corporate crow’s nest
You can see it all from that spot
Don’t be the canary in the coal mine
Or the messenger that gets shot
Your worst work will go unnoticed
That’s the creative process
Get from suck to not suck
Everything is fine and you’re kicking ass
Ah ah ah
Telling great stories that go far
Communicators in charge
Let’s get it done
Hi there! If you're new around these parts, welcome. I'm Jonathan Mann. I write a song every single day, and I've been doing that for the last 9+ years.
Through sick days, tired days, days with no inspiration, the death of my grandma, the breakup of a 5 year long relationship, the marriage to my wife and the birth of our son - I've never missed a day. This is my life's work.
You can see my most current song, as well as songs from year's past over at http://songaday.org
