So, relatively recently, I was watching some NecroDancer speedruns... and for some reason, that got me thinking about 0-gold speedruns. While most of my 0-gold runs have been "slow and safe" sorts of runs... some of them have definitely been faster than others. Which got me thinking... it might be fun to see what sort of time I could get in a 0-gold speedrun. ^_^
I also realized recently that I hadn't recorded a Cadence run with Suizin's remix yet... so I figured this might be a good opportunity to do both. =)
I decided to aim for sub-15. Which seemed like a reasonable goal, given that I'm definitely not as good a speedrunner as, well, actual speedrunners. ^^;
On the plus side, similar to my relatively recent Nocturna speedrun attempts, the Suizin remix seemed to bring Cadence some luck. There were definitely some promising Cadence runs... which unfortunately all ended due to careless mistakes. ^^;;
...until this run. =) Despite some careless mistakes along the way, I not only got my first ever 0-gold sub-15... but somehow managed a sub-13 as well! ^_^

- This "mega quick kill" is something that speedrunners discovered way back in 2015. It requires losing the beat (so, no Reward treasure chest!), but it is really fast!
- Because the bomb does 4 damage, this strat will insta-kill King Conga in Zones 1-3 (2-4 health)... but not in Zones 4-5 (5-6 health). It can still speed up the battle by doing 4 damage really quickly, though. =)
- For technical reasons having to do with bomb blast damage order (the bomb damage is applied to the tiles around it in a specific order, even though we see the results happen on the same beat), this strat will work from the right side... but not the left (to apply actual damage to KC, the bomb has to hit the throne before it hits KC).
- This strat works from both the tile directly right of the throne, and the tile down-right of the throne. Directly right is probably easier, though, since you can just hit the wall to lose the beat (instead of having to stand still, or do an item/spell command you don't have, etc).
