So, a while back, while following Darker Thirst, I'd realized that I should probably rebind the Rail's "reload" command to be something a bit more convenient than "R3" (R3 means you have to stop aiming (and center the analog stick) before reloading, then re-aim after reloading). ^^
After thinking about it, I basically just switched "Reload" and "Open Codex". This put Reload on L1 (much faster and more convenient!), and Codex on R3 (a less-convenient button press... but generally, you don't use the Codex mid-battle, so less-convenient is okay!)... which IMO definitely made the Rail a lot easier to use. =)
Anyway... at some point later, I eventually started experimenting with some of the weapon Aspects (for all weapons) that I hadn't been using much... including Hestia. Hestia had always seemed like it might be pretty powerful... and after testing it out a bit... yep, definitely powerful. =)
So anyway... after getting Duo Digger, I systematically went through almost all of the other win messages I hadn't gotten yet (interestingly, "Nose for Nectar" turned out to be the most troublesome, given the amount of luck required!)... until the only ones left were "Five Hundred Patricides" (500 wins)... and "Hermes would be Jealous" (sub-12 win).
Which got me thinking about Hestia. I'd unintentionally had some relatively quick runs with Hestia before... but I hadn't tried an actual speedrun yet. It seemed like it might be fun to try... so I did. ^_^
Long story short... it went well. ^^;;
So, anyway... here it is, my first ever sub-12 Hades win! Hope you enjoy!
Some quick notes on the basic strategy I used:
- Start with Aphrodite (for Heartbreak Strike), then switch to Persephone (for extra upgrades, for two regions), then Patroclus (for Hades battle).
- Try to keep total number of Boons relatively low, to make it more likely that Pom Blossom (and other upgrades) will focus on Heartbreak Strike (and other supporting Boons).
- If Chaos is encountered, try for an Attack upgrade.
