It's been labeled an RPG, a roguelike, strategic and turn-based... I don't know about any of this really... I do know it's and indie masterpiece, one of the best games of 2024 and a maybe one of the best games of 2020's.
You don't need a Caves of Qud beginner's guide... figuring out everything all by yourself is the best way to experience the game because emergent gameplay is the name of the game. Do bear in mind it's not a CRPG along the lines of Baldur's Gate 2, nor a rogue-like in the tradition of Slay the Spire, nor turn-based like Xcom... Watch the video to know more!
