CBNST: Beating the Developer Time - Rings of Power (CB3) 0:56:86 [PC]
Special thanks to chunzprocessor for the sharp turning technique.
While the level's layout is considered very simple, the level's developer time however, is hard to beat due to the fact that the developers (more specifically, Chris Johnson of VVQA) had set a very good time in this level. What made the difficulty of beating the level's developer time worse is you must fly through every single ring in order, which means you have to restart the time trial if you failed to fly through any one of them.
Much like Bye Bye Blimps, you are not allowed to begin the time trial immediately if you are aiming to beat the developer time. Instead, fly to the left side for a while and return to the starting position afterwards. And then shoot the time trial balloon to begin the time trial once you are close enough.
Throughout the level apart from the obvious move which is doing barrel rolls through the rings, you also have to cut corners in order to save time which is achieved by doing sharp turns. Also make sure to brake and do a sharp turn after you flied through the 25th and 26th rings (think of the 25th to 27th rings as a chicane in a motorsport circuit) as you are very likely run wide there.
While the run is far from perfect, I'm glad to achieve a decent time and had beaten the developer time in this level despite by only a small margin. But hey, at least I have a distinctive honour of being one of the Crash NST time trialists who had beaten the level's developer time!
Developer Time: 0:57:42
