Peter Rawlinson recently gave an interview where he suggested that the Lucid Air is the perfect platform for a large silicon valley company to use to prove out its ADS software.
He is therefore suggesting that either Apple, Google or another large tech firm partner with CCIV/Lucid Motors which would be brilliant for Lucid. There are also 3 current executives on the Lucid board that used to work at Apple.
I wonder how this would effect their relationship with Amazon, as Amazon provide the Alexa entertainment system for the Lucid Air. Peter doesn't see amazon as a competitor and wants to continue working with them, but i wonder if apple would force the use of Siri.
Considering Apple tried to buy tesla at one point, and Elon tried to sell Tesla to Apple, Lucid would have to bring something really special to the table to be partnering with apple.
In terms of the Nio February deliveries, deliveries fell from around 7,200 in January to only 5,500 in February. February is a shorter month and was slow as a result of the pandemic.
There is also a worldwide chip shortage. Taiwan Semiconductors in China is responsible for 70% of the worlds chips, due to the lockdowns, chip production has fallen behind. There is also a water drought in China causing the production to fall further behind as water is crucial in the manufacturing process for Semiconductors.
Nio's Q4 earnings were actually very impressive, revenue and margins were up, Nio just need to focus on cutting expenditure and further growing their revenues. nio are also sat on very substantial cash reserves.
