CDP: DoomZ Crystron, ft. DOOD Support
Equipping meets destruction; they'll go well together!
-------------------------
Today's CDP features the debut of the DoomZ archetype on my channel, the next in our current cycle of Medius the Pure/Power Patron lore themes. The theme's primary gimmick is that when equipped with any Equip Card, the Main Deck DoomZ monsters can Special Summon a WIND Machine Xyz Monster with the same Rank as its level, then attach itself and any equip cards as Xyz Material. As far as the in-theme options, first up has to the R4NK DoomZ Break Diactorus, which can destroy a DoomZ card and a monster on the field on summon. If you leverage DoomZ Zero - Drastia to faux-Xyz Summon, you'll have natural access to the R8NK DoomZ End - Drastrius, which equips another face-up monster on the field on summon, while also having a Quick Effect to negate a monster effect activated on the field or GY.
Now if you're wondering which Equip Spell to use, look no further than their own DoomZ Command "D.O.O.M.D.U.R.G.", an Equip Spell that empowers your Doom-Z monster whether attached as Xyz Material or equipped. With its ability to grant a quick-effect destruction of a card on your field, this synergizes extremely well with anything that likes to be destroyed, such as the theme's primary starter, DoomZ Raider. Lastly like the Artmage, this theme has a Power Patron to call its own in Power Patron Machine DoomZ, a Level 1 monster that converts any other monster you control into a DoomZ Xyz or Jupiter the Power Patron of Destruction whose RANK is the same as the targeted monster's Level. Of course, this is clearly intended to work great with Medius the Pure, but it also gives additional versatility depending on what tech cards you include.
In addition to the new archetype, my build today also features a Crystron engine that doesn't need any Synchro monsters! With a focus on R5NK Xyz Summoning, Crystron Inclusion leads the deck to easy combos that put up additional interruption, such as Cyber Dragon Infinity or Chronomaly Vimana. While the DoomZ theme will probably be fleshed out further in future sets, it just doesn't quite have enough to carry a build on its own yet, which is why I enjoy the Crystron here offering a supporting hand. With that, I'll leave you to see the new theme in action, and catch you next time with a zainy hybrid build with mega one-card combo chains that are entirely TCG-Legal!
