Today's CDP features the return of the Speedroid archetype to my channel, and boy is their new wave of support in Supreme Darkness good! This WIND/Machine archetype consists of all levels, aiming to Synchro Summon WIND Machines and WIND Dragon monsters, and control the duel from there. The theme is probably most known for its splashable engine. Speedroid Terrortop, which can Special Summon itself from the hand while you control no monsters and tutor any Speedroid monster on summon, and Speedroid Taketomborg, which can Special Summon itself from hand while you control a WIND and tribute itself to Special Summon a Speedroid Tuner from deck, already made a great combination that unlocks so much potential for the deck. But now, Speedroid Clackernel can make its own combo, just at the small cost of banishing a Speedroid card from your GY. You see, this monster's Pendulum Effect lets you place Speedroid Wing Synchron into the other Extra Monster Zone, then Wing Synchron can destroy itself and your Clackernel to faux-Synchro Summon Clear Wing Synchro Dragon. Since Clackernel has now been destroyed, it also summons a new copy of itself as a Tuner, giving you even more material to work with later on in the turn. All of this is important, as the new and improved Speedroid strategy blasts so many high Level Synchro monsters to the field in a single turn - so let's meet some of them!
First up is Crystal Clear Wing Over Synchro Dragon, the new Level 12 Synchro most commonly made with Clear Wing Synchro Dragon and a Level 5 Synchro Tuner, such as Hi-Speedroid Glider 2. It offers a fairly straightforward omni-negate; however, it is a soft once-per-turn, like the other Clear Wing Synchros. It joins Crystal Clear Wing Synchro Dragon, the Level 10 option that can negate a Spell/Trap Card or effect action, and Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon, which can negate a monster effect activation. All three are empowered by the last new card of SUDA, Speedroid Clear Wing Wander, a Normal Trap that when activated on the field, can destroy cards the opponent controls up to the number of different Monster Types among WIND Synchros you control. It also has a GY effect, letting you banish itself to banish a WIND Synchro then immediately return that Synchro to the field, resetting its effect and letting you negate another card. Combine this with the solid 'going-second' tools in the Speedroid arsenal like Hi-Speedroid Kitedrake and Hi-Speedroid Clear Wing Rider, and you have yourself an archetype that will truly race to the finish line of the duel. Turbo up to a CLEAR MIND with the Speedroids!
