-------------------------
Welcome to a new week of Creative Deck Profiles, this time featuring a homebrewed strategy that throws together many different cards that somehow works? The glue holding everyone together today is the Superheavy Samurai, a predominantly EARTH-Machine archetype that doesn't appreciate the existence of Spell/Trap cards. Led by the Pendulum Monster Superheavy Samurai Prodigy Wakaushi, this theme can combo extremely well to generate tons of materials for Link Summons, Synchro Summons, or more... but to be honest, I just really enjoy using them to go into the other various combo lines that exist in this Monster Mash build. For example, let's just imagine that you really wanted to build up a few extra Spell/Trap negates on your endboard, such as through Gate Guardian of Wind and Water. To get there, you can use the standard Superheavy Samurai combo; however, you just need to create Beyond the Pendulum along the way. When Link Summoned, Beyond can tutor Majesty Pegasus, the Dracoslayer.
You see, Majesty can tutor any Field Spell when Special Summoned, such as Labyrinth Wall Shadow! Since Shadow does not have a once-per-turn effect, you actually can use its effect multiple times if you gain access to multiple copies. This can be done through the above combo, or by drawing into Shadow Ghoul of the Labyrinth, or by using Blackwing - Zephyros the Elite which is conveniently milled to the GY via the effect of Blackwing - Boreastorm the Wicked Wind. You see, this really is a strategy chalk full of crazy, zainy combos just waiting for you to find them. Another example of a combo chain is to embrace the Codebreaker Zero Day engine to not only make the standard co-linked Knightmare Gryphon, but also to make The Phantom Knights of Rusty Bardiche along the way. Rusty can send a copy of The Phantom Knights of Ancient Cloak to set a Phantom Knights' Fog Blade, and Ancient Cloak can be banished to tutor The Phantom Knights of Silent Boots, which can tutor another Fog Blade. This build is all about maximizing combo potential and finding the right combo line for the situation - if that sounds enjoyable, this might be the monster mash for you!
