Welcome back for another CDP, this time throwing the DARK Fiend Labrynth archetype into the ring alongside the Vanquish Soul theme. The Labrynth archetype was designed to do one thing extremely well - work with Normal Trap cards. Led by Lady Labrynth of the Silver Castle, this archetype has a knack for tutoring the exact Normal Trap they need for the situation, and if one doesn't exist, turning to their own themed Trap Cards to fill the gap. For example, Welcome Labrynth Special Summons a Labrynth from the deck and Big Welcome Labrynth Special Summons a Labrynth from virtually anywhere before returning any monster you control to the hand. With either Trap, if you use them while Labrynth Labyrinth is on the field, you also get a side benefit of destroying a card on the field. With the inherent control factor that comes with running so many Trap Cards, the Labrynth theme just needs a bit more help accomplishing something in a duel, which is where the Vanquish Soul side of today's build comes into play.
I've only ever covered the Vanquish Soul (VS) archetype once before on my channel, but the gist of this archetype is that each monster can reveal a combination of EARTH, FIRE, or DARK monsters in the hand to activate their effects. 1 of each lets Vanquish Soul Caesar Valius destroy a card on the field, while the new Vanquish Soul Jialong can reveal 2 FIRE monsters to tutor any VS card. Combine that effect with both Vanquish Soul Razen and Vanquish Soul Dr. Mad Love which can tutor VS Monsters and VS Spell/Traps respectively, and you've found yourself with a very consistent engine. The VS theme also boasts powerful Normal Trap cards like Vanquish Soul Trinity Burst which can return a ton of your opponents cards to the hand or the new Vanquish Soul Snow Devil Trap, which can Special Summon a VS, protect your VS from being destroyed by card effects, destroy all monsters on the field, and inflict 1800 damage, all with one activation. In short, this strategy comes together over its mutual abuse of powerful Trap Cards, and despite any Fiend-only restrictions that the Labrynth place you under, you will still have mechanisms to take back control of the duel and conquer your opponents. Fight on, with the Vanquish Soul and the Labrynth!
