-------------------------

Today's CDP dives back into the format of imagination, as I combine cards only released so far in the OCG with a TCG World Premiere archetype. Why build in this space? Well, it still can be valuable for inspiring you to reach beyond the standard Maliss or Ryzeal hybrid builds, and see just how much each side of the deck can contribute as an engine, even if you don't dedicate a pure build to them!

Now that's out of the way, let's introduce the Yummy theme! This LIGHT/Beast archetype aims to use their Level 1 monsters to Synchro Summon Level 2 Yummy monsters using any LINK-1 monster as the Tuner! Of course, you can always use the in-theme LINK-1, Yummy Snatchy, which comes with many benefits. First, Snatchy places a Yummy Field Spell onto the board when Special Summoned, then it has a Quick Effect to immediately Synchro Summon using a Yummy monster during either Main Phase or the opponent's Battle Phase. This is important, as the Yummy Synchro monsters each have beneficial effects, such as Cooky Yummy Way, which flips two face-up monsters on the field face-down when Special Summoned. Each Yummy Synchro also has one other key effect: whenever your opponent activates a card or effect, each can be returned to the Extra Deck to Special Summon up to 2 Yummy from your GY. This creates an endless advantage loop, especially after you factor in that the three Main Deck monsters each have an empowered effect when Special Summoned by a Synchro Monster effect. For example, Cupsie Yummy can draw 1 card instead of tutoring a Yummy card when you do.

Since this deck clearly lives and dies on Level 1 monsters, it only makes sense to turn to an archetype that can spam out Level 1s, and that is where I turned to the Mimighoul. This archetype of EARTH Flip monsters is arguably the best theme in the game at spamming multiple Level 1 monsters. Whether it is Mimighoul Fairy Summoning itself from hand or Mimighoul Maker summoning one to your opponent's with a Mimighoul Archfiend to yours to flip and reclaim the other, you have Level 1s for DAYS. While the Mimighoul theme does have their own Xyz Monsters to play with, it somehow feels sweeter sometimes to repurpose them as Synchro material. Now there is one other major benefit to using the Mimighoul - Mimighoul Master is a Level 4 monster and easily accessed as part of the endboard. This is super important for one reason only: since the Yummy Synchros are Level 2 Tuners, you can use Snatchy's Quick Effect to Synchro Summon to make Desert Locusts during the opponent's turn, forcing them to discard a card, then Synchro ladder into Cyberse Quantum Dragon to shield the rest of your monsters from harm. So I hope you enjoy today's build, and catch you next time with a bit more pyromania but still the same amount of TCG-WP themes!
