Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of 1Xtreme for the PlayStation developed and published by Sony.
Originally released as ESPN Extreme Games, 1Xtreme is a racing game and launch title for the original PlayStation. The name was changed when the ESPN license expired, but the game remained the same. 1Xtreme features six courses, from San Francisco to Italy, and several different kinds of wheels to use. Players can ride skateboards or bicycles, lace up their rad 1990s rollerblades or even strap into a street luge. Whether playing in single races or a racing season, the objecive is to win the race. And get money. And punch your opponents in the face. Like Road Rash, 1Xtreme lets you attack the opposition with punches and kicks to send them flying off the course. 1Xtreme's curvy courses are a challenge to navigate, but fortunately, Mo Howard is along for the ride.
