Revenge of the 'Gator hit the Game Boy very early in its life, just a scant few months after the handheld's debut. It brought with it a strange new outlook on Pinball: One where much smaller screen-sized tables were arranged in series, to prevent too much unneccessary scrolling in the midst of the action. It's a paradigm shift that would become the standard for HAL's next pinball title, Kirby's Pinball Land.
