Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Puppeteer for the PlayStation 3 developed and published by Sony.

Sony delivers one of 2013's coolest and most stylish platformers in Puppeteer, a game that's easy to lose your head over. The game tells the story of Kutaro, a little boy who awakens one night to find he's been turned into a puppet. He finds himself in the clutches of an evil king, who rips Kutaro's head off and tosses him into a dark dungeon. Obviously, Kutaro's first order of business is finding a new head. In fact, that's the central gameplay mechanic of Puppeteer—look everywhere for things that can be used as heads. Whether it's a banana or a guillotine, it probably works as a head. And each one gives Kutaro a different special ability, which can come in handy in certain situations. Kutaro's heads also serve as his "hearts," so to speak. Lose a head, and you're down to two. Lose another, and you're down to one. Lose that one...no more heads. Puppeteer's gorgeous graphics make the entire world look like a puppet show, from the wooden characters to the sewn-and-stitched backgrounds. It's like Kirby's Epic Yarn, only with more decapitation. Puppeteer is a single and multiplayer platformer.

This video review features video gameplay footage of Puppeteer for the PlayStation 3 and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
